When I started writing this newsletter two months ago, life was a lot different. I was in a different job and a different city and in a different working arrangement. But in the last seven weeks, I've switched jobs (editorial to marketing) and industries (media to tech), and I'm now in the process of switching cities (Abeokuta to Lagos, Nigeria). (It's almost like I spent the last two years running away from Lagos only to end up right back in this expensive slum.) But we move.
I'm writing to renew our writer-reader contract. My life has changed very fast in such a short time and several things are happening that I didn't anticipate when I started writing this newsletter which takes a lot of time and effort researching and writing.
When Second Guess launched, I published every Wednesday, but readership has grown much faster than I expected (at the time of writing this post, 630 people read Second Guess compared to 154 eight weeks ago). It's now important to do a vibe check on schedules.
Please help me make Second Guess more useful to you. Vote below.
This poll lasts for three days, and I appreciate your participation.
From next week, I'll write on some really interesting topics in a series I'm carefully ideating. I'm exploring intriguing historical social concepts and how they, directly and indirectly, affect us in a rapidly changing world. I hope you'll enjoy them. If there're any topics you'd like me to cover or something you'd like me to improve, please email me.
Thank you for reading and sharing and interacting with my work. I hope to see you next week.
